Known as "paesine" or landscape stones, these 60 million year old chunks of polished marble are actually Eocene limestone blocks; buried in shallow ground near riverbeds. Over a millennia, water carrying iron and manganese oxides trickled and filtered through the stone blocks which gradually imbued them with their magnificent colors and subtle shades. Giclée reproduction.
